Reliance Jio is Paning to launch 4G services in mid-July

The much-awaited launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm's 4G services is around the corner, with mid-July set as the date, according to brokerage Credit Suisse, which said the Mukesh Ambaniowned company is believed to already have over 70,000 live cell sites.

Reliance Jio holds a mix of airwaves in the 1800 MHz and the 2300 MHz bands across the country. The launch of its services has been the most eagerly awaited event across the telecom industry, amid expectations it will disrupt the market through an attractive pricing strategy.

The company was reported to have also been in talks with Chinese manufacturers to source 4Genabled phones that could be sold as part of under-$30 packages.
