How can I start using JioChat? 
You can download JioChat from the respective app stores in your iPhone and Android Phones.

How do I register with JioChat?
After downloading JioChat, please enter your mobile number on the sign up page. A 4-digit One Time Password (OTP) will be sent as an SMS on  the entered number. Once you enter the password to verify the mobile number, JioChat guides you through setting up your personal profile. Once the profile is completed, JioChat is ready for use.

How can I identify which of my existing contacts are already on JioChat? 
Contacts already using JioChat can be identified by the JioChat icon next to their names. You can also filter your contacts and view only those who have JioChat by clicking on the dropdown available on the screen top, which has two options to view contacts - All Contacts & JioChat contacts.

How do I chat with my friends on JioChat?
To start chatting with your friends on JioChat, please follow the steps given below: 
  1.  Click the user’s name under the ‘Contacts’ tab to get a list of actions that can be taken.
  2.  Click the left most icon (chat icon) and a message input screen will open.
  3. Alternatively, click the user’s profile image under the ‘Contacts’ tab to go to the user’s profile page. From the user’s profile, click on the chat icon and a message input screen will open. 
Once message input screen opens, you can then use the on-device native keyboard to initiate a chat.


How can I start using the audio calling facility of JioChat?
In order to start using the audio call facility, click on the contacts name and then click the ‘Call’ icon which comes in the horizontal dropdown menu. Alternatively click on the profile pic of the contact to open the contact’s profile page. Then click on the call button to initiate a call. If you are in a chat session with a contact and you wish to call the contact, you can initiate a call by clicking the leftmost button on the horizontal menu which is always available on the chat window. The speakerphone can be used to toggle between speakerphone and earpiece, and the ` button can be used to mute or unmute a call.

Note: Bluetooth headsets are currently not supported by JioChat.

How can I start using video calls through JioChat?
In order to start using the video call facility, click on the contacts name and then click the ‘Video Call’ icon which comes in the horizontal dropdown menu. Alternatively click on the profile pic of the contact to open the contact’s profile page. Then click on the Video call button to initiate a video call. Once this contact accepts the call the video call begins and you can see your contact along with a smaller video feed of yourself. The video feed can be disabled without ending the call, making it an audio-only call. While you are in a chat session with another user, you can initiate a call by clicking the leftmost button on the horizontal menu which is always available on the chat window.

Note: It is recommended that video calls are made on a wireless LAN or WiFi network or a 3G or 4G operator network. Bluetooth headsets are not currently supported by JioChat

What kind of files can I share on JioChat and how can I share them? 
JioChat allows you to share image and video files directly taken from the device camera, or from the device gallery. You can also choose a file transfer option to share other file formats and sources up to a size of 100 MB, subject to device or OS (operating system) limitations.
