Reliance Jio is starting to provide 4G SIMs to some customers from this week

Reliance Jio Infocomm is preparing to provide 4G SIMs this week, probably starting either on Monday or Tuesday, reports a business daily.
The SIMs would be provided free to certain customers who will buy Reliance Jio's LYF and other 4G handsets with a focus on the metro cities, says the financial newspaper.
Reliance Jio has begun shipping the SIMs and Customers Application Forms (CAFs) to its outlets across the country, according to the daily.
The company is now extending the testing of the services to certain customers, which could be a prelude for a commercial launch, reports the paper.
The SIMs can be activated within four hours of a user submitting the CAFs, and on activation of the SIM, a customer can start using 4G services, adds the paper.
Last week, Reliance Jio informed the outlets of the SIM and CAF supplies, and provided training to its staff.
However, it is not known as to how many customers will be provided Reliance Jio SIMs, according to the daily. The date for commercial launch is also not known.
“For providing superior customer experience, Jio is currently testing its service offerings across the breadth of the country with group employees, partners and vendors who are among the first to test the true 4G network,” a Reliance Jio spokesperson has been quoted as saying.
